What The Saturday Night Live Promo Means For Jon Hamm
He's Adept At Comedy
Though he is best known for his Emmy-winning role as the ultra-serious and brooding Don Draper in Mad Men, AMC's highly acclaimed series, Hamm is also incredibly adept at doing comedy. He guest-starred on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock as two different characters and received three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. In 2015, Hamm also guest-starred in Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and earned another Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.

Jon Hamm's 15 Best Movies And TV Shows
Jon Hamm may be most famous for Mad Men, but the actor has shown his versatility and comedic talent in a wide range of movies and TV shows.
Hamm has also showcased his comedic chops in the TV shows Good Omens, Fargoseason 5, Parks and Recreation, and Curb Your Enthusiasm – and in the movies Bridesmaids, Keeping Up with the Joneses, Tag, and Confess, Fletch. He has also lent his voice to the animated comedies ShrekForever After and Minions. Over the years, Hamm has dabbled in sketch comedy, previously hosting Saturday Night Live in 2008 and twice in 2010, all three times while Mad Men was still on the air.
Our Take On Jon Hamm Hosting Saturday Night Live
What To Expect
Given Hamm's dramatic pedigree, audiences might be surprised by how naturally he leans into comedy, but longtime fans will know he can steal scenes with great timing. Since he previously played Don Draper in SNL sketches, it will be interesting to see whether Hamm revisits that suave, chain-smoking persona or does something totally unexpected. He could spoof Landman with a cowboy-themed sketch or parody prestige TV tropes with something related to Your Friends and Neighbors. Either way – with his mix of charm, range, and willingness to get weird – Hamm's return to Saturday Night Live should promise some laughs.
