The Bachelor 29: Grant Ellis' Response To Litia Garr's Allegations Explained (Did He Really Want To End The Season Early?)
Litia Garr made some shocking allegations during The Bachelor season 29 finale, and Grant Ellis finally responded. Grant didn't deny Litia's claims at first. As they sat side by side being interviewed by host Jesse Palmer, he let her say everything that was on her mind. Since then, Grant has broken his silence to respond to her accusations. Suffice it to say, Grant, 31, and Litia, 31, don't see eye to eye on how their relationship played out. The biggest issue is that Litia alleges Grant told her he was going to pick her, but he picked Juliana Pasquarosa instead.
Grant, 31, is a day trader and former basketball player who made his television debut on Jenn Tran's season of The Bachelorette. After being eliminated before hometown dates, Grant was cast as the next franchise lead. Excitement was high when The Bachelor season 29 premiered. The tall, attractive Grant seemed like he was designed in a lab to be a Bachelor Nation lead. He liked Litia, 31, from the start. It wasn't a surprise when she made it to his final two. After he gave his final rose to someone else, Litia made some allegations, and Grant finally responded.
Litia Accused Grant Of Leading Her On
"Oh My Gosh, We're Getting Engaged Tomorrow"
Litia walked in to that final rose ceremony with confidence. Earlier, during the final episode, she looked right into the camera and expressed no doubt that she would be getting engaged soon. She seemed genuinely blindsided when Grant told her it was over. When Litia sat down with Grant during The Bachelor season 29 finale, she told Jesse that Grant had misled her. “Grant and I had talked a lot about that day, and everything that he had ever said about it was that it was going to be us,” Litia said.

“We were getting engaged from, you know, the first one-on-one that we had in L.A. until the night before that day," Litia went on to say. "I remember saying goodbye to him and saying, ‘Oh my gosh, we are getting engaged tomorrow.’ And he said, ‘I know, I can’t wait. I love you. I love you. I love you.’ Those were the last words that he said to me before I walked up there. So it was a shock.” She also claimed he said he wanted to end the season early because he knew she was the one.
Grant & Juliana Finally Responded To Litia's Claims
"I Wish Her Well"
During The Bachelor season 29 finale, Grant didn't refute any of Litia's claims. He let her say whatever she wanted to at that moment. Since then, he responded to her allegations in an exclusive with Us Weekly. In the interview, he said that he didn't agree with Litia's take on what happened. “But I let her speak her truth and her piece," Grant said. "I’m not gonna sit up there and argue with her on stage about what she thought I said."
“I think the only reaction I have is that we are two different individuals and we have to go through this process very uniquely and very true to who we are."
Grant told both women he loved them, which made matters worse. During The Bachelor 29 finale, Litia also made some comments about how she thought Juliana should feel about Grant being so torn. She went on to say that she wouldn't want to be part of a love story where her man was so conflicted. When asked about Litia's comments, Juliana said, “I think the only reaction I have is that we are two different individuals and we have to go through this process very uniquely and very true to who we are. And I wish her well.”
Did Grant Mislead Or Did Litia Misread?
He Said She Said
Litia isn't the first runner-up to feel like she was misled by The Bachelor, and she's unlikely to be the last. It's the nature of being on the show. It's easy to see how Litia can feel misled, but that doesn't mean Grant did anything wrong. Some fans have taken issue with the fact that Grant said he chose Juliana because their relationship was more "fun," but that doesn't mean it's not a serious relationship. Litia should try to move on quickly from her disappointment. She's a great catch who should easily find the right man.
