However, if renewed, Temptation Island season 2 will follow the same format as season 1 and the exact shooting location. Temptation Island season 1 was filmed in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, which has been the filming location since the show moved to the USA Network. The series, which initially premiered in 2001, was first filmed in Belize. However, the show follows four couples who put their relationships to the test by facing temptation in the form of attractive singles. These couples are split into two villas, where they live separately, and every few days, they’re shown clips of their partners’ experiences. At the final bonfire, they must decide whether to leave together, alone or with someone new.

In season 1, for example, two couples broke up, while the other two left with new partners. Ashley Moore (who joined the show with her boyfriend) Grant Larsen, developed a connection with Danny Spongberg, and the two left together. Therefore, Temptation Island season 2 will have another group of couples ready to put their relationships to the test and see how it goes. Season 1 set the bar too high, considering how dramatic it was, so season 2 might be way better.

The executive producers of Temptation Island, David Goldberg and David Friedman, talked to Variety about the filming process. They revealed that production began in May 2024 and only took 17 days. Therefore, if Netflix gives the green light, Temptation Island season 2 will be released by summer 2025, with the trailer coming out a few weeks before its premiere. For instance, the Temptation Island season 1 trailer came out on February 26, 2025, two weeks before the show aired, teasing the drama that would unfold later in the series (via Netflix).

Netflix's Temptation Island will have a different release schedule from the original Fox edition, as it is with most of their production, whereby filming happens almost a year before the release date. Seasons 1 and 2 aired in 2001, but Temptation Island season 3 didn't return to Fox until August 2003. That trend continued when Temptation Island moved to the USA Network with seasons 4 and 5 in 2019. Therefore, based on the usual Netflix release schedule of their past reality shows, including Love Is Blind and Perfect Match, viewers can expect Temptation Island season 2 between March and May 2026.
